Living among us angels, demons, engkantos etc.
This morning, while taking breakfast, my dad and I were talking about an encounter he had with a man yesterday at his friend's coffee shop.
According to my dad, the guy and his wife were all dressed in white. The guy was wearing a long robe and has long hair and beard (which would probably remind you of Jesus or some ermitanyo in some mountain). The wife was also dressed in white and was wearing a white shawl. You'd think that, based on his description, these guys are hippies or under some drugs. But my dad assumed that the guy was an angel or prophet.
Why would he think that?
The guy never mentioned that he's an angel or a prophet but he claims that he talks to Jesus Christ, had coffee with Lucifer and that Lucifer helped Bush in the elections and that Mike Velarde's gift of tongue came from an engkanto and not from God. Uber weird stuff.
My dad claims the guy is not insane. According to him, the guy speaks sensibly, aside from the things or events that he shared about demons, angels and engkantos, he sounds logical. Besides, the wife even has a doctorate degree in microbiology in UP so you would think twice before concluding that they're insane. They were just there to share their thoughts and to sell some bionenzyme product.
A case of substance abuse or delusional disorder? I don't know.
But do demons, angels, engkantos and other elementals really live among us and disguise themselves as human beings?
Nakakatakot naman yan.
This story actually reminds me of Neil Gaimman's American Gods. Minus the ghost Laura. Pero mala-Shadow ang dating ano? You wouldn't think that gods live among us and they also get hurt like humans. Yun nga lang mga immortals sila.
