Treatment of Prostate Cancer
If the cancer is more advanced, radiation therapy or hormonal manipulation (or a combination of both) may be tried. The goal of hormonal manipulation is to decrease male hormone (androgen) levels. There are several ways to accomplish this:

- Bilateral orchiectomy (removal of the testicles);
- Adminstration of estrogen, to block the body's production of testicular androgen;
- Administration of gonadotropin-releasing hormone-like drugs (GRH), to decrease production of testicular androgens
